Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary was founded in 1921 and has grown into one of the largest lay organizations spread over the world. It can be used by the Bishop or Pastor for any Catholic Action except the collection of money. It requires its members to lead a devout Christian life, attend weekly meetings of prayer and spiritual readings followed by reports and discussions of assigned work preformed the prior week. It also has auxiliary member who provide spiritual support. To be an auxiliary member, one must pray a five decade rosary daily along with special prayers. At St. Paul’s Parish the Pastor has assigned the task of Parish Census to the Legion of Mary members. Other tasks include providing free Rosaries, moderating the traveling Statue of Mary which goes from Home to Home on request and providing religious CDs and pamphlets in a Media Rack located in the Church Vestibule.
Weekly Meetings are held on Tuesday at 6PM in the Teachers Lounge of St. Paul’s School.
